For a long time, conventional single-layer WPC tends to fade and suffers insufficient weather resistance when used outdoors, limiting its adoption in high-end projects. With the mass production of the co-extrusion process, ASA co-extruded WPC products have gained rapid popularity, propelling wood-plastic composite materials into the high-end building materials sector.
The co-extrusion process enables integrated extrusion of the core layer and functional surface layer. The outer layer delivers UV resistance, acid and alkali resistance as well as excellent wear resistance, greatly extending the service life of outdoor boards and cutting subsequent maintenance costs. At present, co-extruded WPC flooring, fencing and exterior wall panels are widely applied in coastal scenic spots, park boardwalks and high-end courtyard projects, and comply with strict outdoor building material standards in the EU and North America.
Many leading manufacturers keep upgrading their extrusion production lines and optimizing formulation systems to balance product performance and production costs, driving high-performance co-extruded WPC to shift from high-end customization to mass production.
